Immortality

This sculpture was created for the birth of my first grandson. It symbolizes continuity through the generations. As I was testing new forms forms using a copper tube, I ended making a Moebius strip. The three loops represent three generations. Was it possible then to symbolize with the infinite or the passage between generations? The replacement of the copper tube by a hundred matchboxes glued to each other led to the installation of a metal band turning on itself and that mathematicians call a Möbius strip. I believe this sculpture gathers the memories of past generations. I also include/understand it as the scroll on which is registered the secret of life (DNA).
